Function matters more than appearance.
Bunions and other painful deformities can interfere with walking and footwear. Examination and, when needed, weight-bearing X-rays help explain bone alignment and joint condition.
From footwear to reconstruction.
For bunions, wider shoes, pressure relief and selected supports can ease symptoms. Persistent pain and limitations may lead to bone realignment, soft-tissue procedures or fusion of a damaged joint. The deformity guides the choice.
We also plan the days afterwards.
Weight-bearing, protective footwear and walking aids depend on the technique. Bone healing and swelling can take months. Follow-up and the return to everyday activities are discussed in advance.
What should you understand?
Possible complications include infection, nerve injury, stiffness, persistent pain, delayed bone healing or recurrent deformity. Correction aims for a functional foot; bunion surgery is not planned solely for appearance.
