Shoulder diagnosis and treatment

Raise your arm. Sleep comfortably. Put on a jacket. When shoulder pain interrupts small everyday movements, a careful assessment helps find the right direction for treatment.

01

Similar pain, different causes.

Symptoms may arise from rotator-cuff tendons, a frozen shoulder or other structures. Discussion and examination of motion and strength guide diagnosis. X-rays, ultrasound or MRI are added when they can clarify the findings.

02

Treatment follows the diagnosis.

A plan may include activity modification, targeted exercise, rehabilitation and medication. Injections are considered for an appropriate indication. Selected tendon injuries and persistent limitations may also prompt a discussion of surgery.

03

The goal is the movement you need.

We follow pain, function and progress in activities. Recovery depends on the cause; a frozen shoulder may require longer-term work on movement. Exercises are matched to the stage of your symptoms.

04

Understand the approach before deciding.

Each option has expected benefits and risks. For injections, we discuss the preparation and safety; for surgery, infection, stiffness and possible tendon re-tear. Your findings guide the plan.

You can arrange a consultation and assessment at Amabilia. If surgery is recommended, the appropriate operating institution, preparation, costs and follow-up plan are agreed separately with you.

Good to know

Clearer information.
An informed decision.

Does every painful shoulder need an MRI?

No. An examination determines which imaging, if any, can change the plan.

Can a shoulder be treated without surgery?

Often, yes. The cause, function, associated injuries and response to treatment guide the choice.
