First, we understand the instability.
Examination and appropriate imaging clarify an ACL, PCL or multiple-ligament injury. Giving-way episodes, meniscus injuries and the activities you want to resume all matter.
Rehabilitation or reconstruction?
Some injuries are managed with rehabilitation and, where appropriate, a brace. Persistent instability or higher functional demands may lead to graft reconstruction. The injured structures and your needs guide the choice.
Returning to sport takes time.
Recovery develops motion, strength and knee control. Return to sport depends on clinical progress and functional assessment, rather than the calendar alone. The reconstructed ligament and accompanying injuries need time to heal.
The plan includes possible complications.
Risks include infection, blood clots, stiffness, graft-harvest pain and recurrent instability. Clear rehabilitation instructions guide recovery; return to your previous sporting level cannot be guaranteed.
